![]() I have researched a fair bit now and the Steinbauer keeps coming out on top for both quality and other peoples experiences in using them. ![]() This is the unit I am leaning towards as they don't directly obtain their power from simply altering the fuel pressure but rather the injection window (pulse width) as well as throttle position and other management controls. Good luck with your decision and please repost and let us know if / when you do fit one.I haven't come across a great deal on the chips for the newer BT-50/Rangers yet, in particular the Steinbauer. Whilst I have loved Nissans for a long time the loud pedal on the LC76 delivers like no Nissan I have owned. I pull a camper trailer and do a bit of high country travelling as well as long distance touring and I am very happy with the power. These were done at different times and I could definitely notice the change on each occasion. Two things that I have done that have shown a marked improvement in power is a Safari snorkel and the 3" exhaust - neither of which were put on to derive more power. His opinion is that he would only consider Steinbauer but unless there is a lack of performance or the vehicle is sluggish - why bother. Mine is just out of warranty (2011 model) so that didn't influence me but a discussion with my mechanic who drives a 78 series himself ultimately helped me to decide not to install one. ![]() Not specifically Steinbauer v DP but whether to fit one at all. Coincidentally I have the same vehicle as you and I have been exploring the whole chip question over the last few weeks.
